Here is how I cleaned up my places list:

View > Places
Clicked on the filter icon to bring up the pick dialog
At the bottom, where it says "Filter List"
On the "Level" drop down list, select "County/Parish"
Click the "Update" button
Then click the "Set Filter" button.

You will be back to Places, but the difference here is, when you click on
the next record button, you will still be viewing the county level.
Scroll through them to make sure everything is correct. If you find
something that is wrong, change the level it should be on.

(I started with the County/Parish level, because Bill had already entered
in the Nation and the State level's for us.)

When you get to the end, click on the filter icon again, choose the next
level, "Township", Click the Update button again and then the Set Filter
button.

Keep doing these same procedures until you have finish off by checking the
"Local Site" level.

I know for some of you this is going to take a long time depending on your
database size, but if you work at it just a bit at a time, you should have
no problems.

Hope someone finds this useful!
