The slash and all caps options affect how the names are displayed, not how
they are stored. These "display styles" are not used in fields where names
can be edited: the Identifiers Page, and the Name field on the Summary Page.
In those places, you see the names as they are actually stored.

I'm thinking now that perhaps I should change the Name field so that it uses
the display styles normally, and only shows the stored format when the
cursor is in that field. That way it wouldn't appear to be a bug.
