I found this idea intriguing so I played around with it some more. I found
the following birth records for the three children who were with John and
Gertrude M. in the 1930 census.

BEGLEY 1917 08 07 GRANGOW
FEMALE LOS ANGELES (This would be Virginia M)
BEGLEY JOHN P 1921 07 07 GRANGON MALE LOS
ANGELES
BEGLEY PATRICIA F 1924 01 19 FGRANZON
FEMALE LOS ANGELES

There were also death records for Gertrude and Patricia

BEGLEY GERTRUDE M 1887 01 24
FEMALE MI LOS ANGELES 1970 PETTERSON PATRICIA FRANCES
1924 01 19 GRANZOW BEGLEY FEMALE CA
SANTA CLARA 1980

John P. Begley died in Riverside in 2006--too late to be in the CA Death
Records at Ancestry or VitalSearch. I'm not sure what happened to Virginia.
John, Sr most likely died before 1940 when the easily searchable death
indices started.

I eventually found Gertrude in the 1900 census in Berrien County MI (with a
birth date of Jan 1887). Her parents were William (born in MI) and Frieda
(born in Germany) Granzow (or Granzar depending on who is reading the
handwriting).

Berrien County is in the south west part of lower Michagan--not particularly
close to either Livingston County (home of the Walker Mill) nor Monroe
County. Unfortunately, I didn't find any incidence of Gertrude calling
herself Marguerita (or however she spelled it). And, John says he was born
in Chicago in the census report and in his WWI Draft Registration so that
doesn't exactly put him in the Begley house in Livingston County, MI. After
all that, I'm not overly optimistic that Gertrude is the lady in the photo.
But after all that puzzling, I thought I'd throw it out (since the list is
so quiet lately).

I think I could locate some descendants if anybody thinks it's worth
pursuing. (Whoever gave Gertrude's death certificate information didn't
even know her maiden name.)

Nancy

I hope the formatting isn't too tweaked by the trip through cyberspace and
Rootsweb:(

I was playing around a bit with it, looking at the Begley names in Ancestry.
Found a Gertrude "M" Begley and her husband John in the 1930 census, Los
Angeles, California, Montebello, district 1169, she was 41 and born in 1889.
What interested me was that both of them were born in Michigan. Maybe that
photo was taken on a trip home? Age may not be right, but it's hard to tell
just how old she is in that picture.
