"Could they have drowned" Wow , now thats a new idea although not Annie since she died right at home but her father was a "Seafaring man" so if he was taken back to Maine by ship then yes , that is possible but how could I prove it ? I have been to the historical society there and to the court house in WELLS and in KENNEBUNK but they could not find anything helpful also I was in contact with the one in WELLS for a couple years on and off . I have not been to the Library there nor have I contacted them as I was hoping to get back there some day but now thats not possible . I can try to contact them .
Does anyone know of a place on the web where they list those who died at sea ? Not at ancestry as I'm not a member .
Thank you all for your idea's and for caring .

Hi Donna,

Just curious if you have sent a slow-mail letter to the Wells, ME, Library
and asked them for the research ! I know some, small Libraries won't do
this anymore, but, if you included a small check, they might consider doing
the look-up for you.

Also, there are new web sites which offer "old newspapers" on-line. I
think one of them is "paper of record."

Also, what has the Town Clerk in Wells, ME, told you? Doesn't the record
of death say where they are buried?

I just checked Census reports and found out that George LITTLEFIELD is a
popular name !

hello just browsing the posts. i am not familiar with north eastern
genealogy, however i was wondering if you knew how annie died? and was
george's death
a suiside? ........maybe if it was a self inflected death other tan by
accident would that have been grounds for a christian buriel in certain
religions?
if so e been buried then perhaps he would have been buried in some
sort of
public/city/county/paupers grave? or what of the possibility of a "out
to sea
burial, or cremation?...just some thoughts......michelle
