I have the following for sale:
A HISTORY OF THE NINTH REGIMENT, ILLINOIS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, With The
Regimental Roster, by the Chaplain, Marion Morrison, b. 1821. Originally
published 1864. 1997 printing.
Many Illinois German immigrants enlisted in the Union Army from the St.
Clair Co. area--from the towns of Belleville, Mascoutah, Lebanon, Millstadt
and others and marched to Springfield under the command of August Mersy,
veteran of the failed 1848 revolt in Baden, Germany. He was rejected due to
poor English and replaced by Col. Eleazer A. Paine, OH, West Point
graduate.After Fort Donelson & Shiloh Church, the depleted 9th received 103
men from the 128th Illinois from Williamson Co. and 105 imprisoned
deserters, who became good soldiers. Soft cover, 143 pages, 1000s of names
listed with home towns, photos, excellent condition, $20. + $3 postage.
HISTORY OF THE 31ST REGIMENT ILLINOIS VOLUNTEERS, Organized by Gen. John A.
Logan (c)1991 (originally (c)1902). an account of a Southern Illinois
Regiment in the Civil War by its' veterans. 236 pages, photos, soft cover,
some light water stains at bottom of some pages, x-library, roster of the
men, $18.+ $3 postage.
A HISTORY OF THE 30TH ILLINOIS VETERAN VOLUNTEER REGIMENT OF INFANTRY, soft
cover, spiral, originally printed 1916 Sparta, Illinois News. 125 pages,
many photos, organized 10 Aug. 1861 at Opossumden Prairie, Blair, Illinois,
$15. + $3 postage.
