Subject: GEN-DE Help reading two marriage records, Hesse-Darmstadt,1797 and 1811
Date: Fri, 17 Sep 2010 21:00:06 -0700

Could someone help me reading various bits of these two marriage records?

The first is a marriage in 1797 (bottom of the page) between the
braidmaker (haberdasher?) Georg Philipp Schuchmann, son of master-tailor
(Schneidermeister?) Johann Georg Schuchmann, of Reinheim; and Elisabethe
Margarethe von der Schmidt, daughter of [can't read profession] Herr
Johann Georg von der Schmidt, also of Reinheim. I think the microfilm
cuts off witnesses, assuming they're listed.

Second is an 1811 marriage (middle record on this page) between
master-butcher Johann Philipp Dressel, son of Heinrich Philipp Dressel;
and Elisabethe Mass, daughter of the deceased [can't read profession]
Johannes Mass [can't read the following bit]. Witnesses are 1)
Elisabethe wife of the citizen and [...] Balthasar Kandler, and 2) the
[profession here] Jacob Ogg/Agg.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks very much in advance!
