My ancestral line of GEISSes in America begins with immigrant George Adam GEISS b. Friesbach, Germany on 4 June 1725. I have a little information on his parents, Heinrich and Anna Catharina GEISS. Also I have one (presumed) sibling listed, Phillip Jacob GEISS, who reportedly arrived in America 9/25/1751 and whose wife was named Appolonia.

George Adam GEISS arrived in America on the PEGGY 9/24/1753, and settled in Berks Co. PA. He was married in Bern Twp., Berks Co., on 15 May 1758 to Anna Barbara HAAG (daughter of Johann George HAAG, Jr. and wife Anna Margaret, nee unknown). Following common practice, both went by their middle names, Adam and Barbara. They were buried at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bernville, Berks Co.

I have names for nine of their children born in Tulpehocken, Berks Co. Uunfortunately I only have descendants for two of their children: for Heinrich Adam (504 descendants and 252 spouses of descendants) and for their youngest daughter, Catherine b. 3/13/1776, who married Michael Himmelberger (4 descendants and 3 spouses of descendants provided by a Himmelberger descendant).

Their first child died in infancy. I am looking for descendants of their other eight children who were born as follows: Catherine Elizabeth b. 6/19/1760; John Michael and Philip Jacob (twins) b. 9/6/1763; Heinrich Adam b. 6/21/1764; Barbara b. 3/7/1765; Christiana b. 1/13/1768; George Adam, Jr. b. 6/17/1772; and Catherine b. 3/13/1776.

I would be happy to correspond with other GEISS>GEISE descendants who trace their ancestry back to SE Pennsylvania in the 18th to 20th Centuries.
