Hi Nicole, wow you are the first person from Canada that I have come in contact with that may actually be related to my Gareau family. I have had a lot of help from so many wonderful people over the years who have helped me find information on Joseph and Louise, except for their marriage and his birth of course. Even Jean Gareau of the Gareau family association has not been able to help me.
To be 100% sure I am a descendant of Louis and Therese Cyr I must have the baptismal or marriage record for Joseph, the marriage record being the best proof.
In all these years I have yet to discover it because I have never found in which place of the many that they traveled to that they married in.
So any help that I can get it very very much appreciated, thank you so much, and it sure would be nice to find a connection too. One other thing that has made it worse for me is the fact that the Joseph sometimes used Gareau for records and sometimes he used St.Onge. Also Louise used Monet and Boismenu at random also. Also please tell me just how we may be related, this is great. Thanks, Kristin
