Thanks for your reply. Yes, Hence is probably Henson although Hinsey/Hensey
are also possibilities. Think I've also seen Henderson shortened to Hence.
The 1850 Rabun County census is the only documentation I have on Hence. In
1860, Nancy is listed as a widow with 5 children and lived in Cherokee
County NC, then moved next door to Clay County NC by 1870. I have nothing
on the York line and have wondered more than once if I'm looking up the
wrong tree--ha ha!

My database shows a John B. YORK and Malinda SCRUGGS as the parents of Nancy
YORK. This Nancy YORK is said to have married Curl KEENER. This is not a
"line" of mine and I have no sources.
Hence QUEEN is probably HENSON QUEEN. I descend from a Mary QUEEN who m:
Robert HALL in Burke Co., NC 1815, so I am familiar with this line, but have
nothing in my database to help you YET.

The 1850 Rabun County census lists Hence Queen, wife Nancy, with two
children: Jeremiah and Mary. (This same entry has also been interpreted as
Spence Queen; however, I believe Hence is correct.) Family lore says
Nancy's maiden name was York. Looking for marriage record, parents for
Hence and Nancy, or other descendants.
