Lou,
After going through the census records for 1850-1880, it could be either
John Dean Gallup. John Dean b. 1833 or John Dean b. 1789.

John Dean b. 1832 d. abt 1902, son of Jabez Gallup and Eunice Williams. He
looks like he never married and lived with his sister, Hannah who was also
unmarried. At least that is how I found them in the 1860-1880 census
records.

John Dean b. 1789 d. 1871 m. Prudence Denison and Mary Crandall. They seemed
to have no children that I can find. This John Dean is a brother to Jabez
Gallup and they were both sons of Amos Gallup and Welthean Dean.

The question to differentiate the two is who are their neighbors. If you
can tell me who owned the houses next to them, I can tell you which one
lived in the house through the census record. I'll look forward to hearing
from you.

Carmen

Carmen,

Who is John Dean Gallup II listed as owner of a house
on Wyssup Road on an 1860's map of North Stonington,
CT. Could he be the son of Jabez Gallop?

I live next to the home and am very interested in
the history of the area. Any assistance would be
helpful.

Thanks,

Lou
