Hi, Anthony;
Patrick Gallagher migrated to Texas abt. 1850 with a brother, and the brother returned to Ireland OK, but never returned here to his brother. Patrick Gallagher was taken in by my GGrandfather, Anthony Wayne Wayne Walters & Sally Goss, who lived on Table Rock Creek, a tributary of Cow House Creek that runs through Fort Hood (Built in 1942) Texas. West Ft Hood is now a part of Coryell County, and the rest is in present-day Bell County.Anyway, Anthony Wayne
had children William b. 1853, and Mary Elisabeth Walters b. 1844 in Nacogdosches Texas. Ther were other childrenn as well. Pat Gallagherand Mary Elizabeth Walters married in Coryell County. Patrick became a Texas Ranger, joining up in Lampasas. Anthony Wayne`s Horse Ranch was raided twice about 3 weeks apart, causing Anthony Wayne to lose all his breeding stock and put him out of business. They (Pat & Mary) moved to Tom Green County, Water Valley, near San Angelo, Texas.I have a book, well done & informative, titled "Nacogdosches-Gateway to Texas" by Carolyn Reeves Ericson, which has much information about the Earl Walters as they entered Texas in 1835-1836 at that place. Another book called The Gallagher-Walters-Goss families of Texas is well done, easy to read, and I am willing to share the family information if you can show a connection. Any advice would be greately appreciated. THANKS! MERKEL WALTERS aka
