I'm trying to confirm a marriage between Wiley Jones BRIDGES (d. 1842 in
Coweta Co.,GA) and Jane / Jenny STRICKLAND, daughter of Solomon STRICKLAND
of Madison Co.,GA.
I have no marriage record, but have found (thanks to a great friend) a court
case dated Mar 1840 in Jasper County,GA. Wiley Jones BRIDGES sued Barnabas
STRICKLAND for $240 that was owed to him. I understand that Barnabas
STRICKLAND was a son of Solomon STRICKLAND of Madison Co. as well.
Here are some of my questions:
Who was this Barnabas STRICKLAND?
When did he live in Jasper County and where? (The court was held in the
297th dist. of Jasper Co.)
Can anyone fill me in on any details about this man?
I'd be most interested in sharing documentation regarding these families.
