Leon---Many thanks for starting this list. Here is my first post.

My great-grandparents, James Griffin HUGHES and Laura Henrietta HUTCHISON
HUGHES, lived in Marietta from 1867 until his death in 1894. They had the
following children: John Sylvester (b. & d. 1867), Laura Medora (b. 1869),
Willie Henrietta (b. 1871), Augusta (b. 1872), Katherine Starling (b. 1876;
my grandmother), Jennie "Jerry" (b. 1878), Maryann Bertha (b. 1880), Nellie
Grant (b. 1882), Bessie Amanda (b. 1885), James Griffin Jr. (b. 1887), and
Wallace Brown (b. 1890).

My great-grandparents, Perry F. YORK and Elizabeth "Lizzie" SHOCKLEY YORK,
lived in Marietta as early as 1861 until his death in 1873 and her death in
1929. They had the following children: Leila [Eva Leila?] (b. 1867) and
Duward Lee YORK (b. 1870, my grandfather).

Duward Lee YORK and Katherine Starling HUGHES had the following children:
Duward Lee Jr. (b. 1898), Richard Hughes (b. 1900), Theodore Hughes (b.
1903), Katherine Evaleila (b. 1905; my mother), Dorothy Elizabeth (b. 1907),
and Albert Bond (b. 1910). All the children were born in Marietta, except my
mother, Katherine Evaleila YORK, who was born in Atlanta.

Any help in tracing earlier ancestors, especially Perry F. YORK, will be
deeply appreciated. Perry may have been born anywhere between NC and
Marietta, GA. His father may have been, and probably was, named Isaac YORK
(b. 1793 in NC).
