Recently, Ron Haire made a posting to this list, saying that the Baker Co.
Historical Society was conducting a prepublication sale to see how many reprints
of "The History of Baker County" to order. On January 27, I made an inquiry
to the "society" using the post office box address that Ron provided in his
e-mail. In my letter, I expressed interest in the book, but did not want to send
$50 (cost of book) at that time without getting corroboration about the
reprint before I sent a check. I also asked if it was possible to get the name of a
contact person and a means whereby I could contact that person if necessary. I
included an SASE to facilitate an answer to my letter.

As of today, I have yet to hear from anyone at the Historical Society. My
husband has many family connections with Baker County, and I would love to add a
copy of this book to our genealogical library. Ron, if you're reading this,
can you offer any comments? Any help anyone can offer will be greatly
appreciated.
