List,
Is there any information concerning what the boys did while in the CCC
camp in Baxley, Ga? How long did they stay?
My uncle, James Martin, sent a postcard to his sister from:
Baxley, Ga.
Co. 1424 CCC.
Dec 9, 1935
I thought the CCC camps were for single young men. He was married, 28
years old with two daughters. Card mostly concerns he'd be getting five
days off but didn't know if it would be at Christmas or at New Year.
That since he'd not heard from her she might be sick and wanting to know
if all would be at their mother's for Christmas and to bring his oldest
daughter with her there so he could see her. Evidently he and his wife
were separated. He had received a letter from her and this daughter at
the Camp. His children were living in Atlanta, Ga with his estranged wife.
