Date: Fri, 19 Aug 2005 04:47:08 EDT
Please foward this information on to all of your comrades:
The premiere of the movie, Battle of AIken, will be held Friday, August 26 at
the Imperial Theatre, Broad Steet, Downtown Augusta, Ga. All men who have
uniforms and ladies in period dress are asked to wear them for the premier
parade. As three TV stations as well as the newspapers will be there, we need a good
turnout to impress the medias.
The Imperial controls all ticketing. They are doing this at matinee rates of
just $5. You can buy in advance or at the gate. If you can be in the parade
and can't get a ticket in advance, please buy one at the gate by 6:15.
The parade will muster behind the Imperial at 6 to 6:30 at St Pauls Church
parking lot. The Parade will move out at 7 PM up 6th street and turn onto Broad
Street. Infantry is asked to bring powder as several volleys will be fired.
The soldiers, followed by the actors, will then make the grand entrance into the
Imperial. (It is important that soldiers have tickets in hand so as to not
slow down the procession) The movie will start at 8.
The Imperial is one of the last of the old historic grand theatres left in
the South. It will be a rare treat to watch a War Between the States movie in
this theatre.
People who can't make it Friday night, can see it on Sat. Aug 27 at 2,4,6,8
or10 . These two days will be the only opportunity to see the film in our area,
so don't miss it!
