Subject: [GA-Roots] Seeking kin of J. M. Gray of Atlanta, GA. who lived there in 1947

A friend of mine, Ola, dated J.M. Gray in Atlanta in the late 40s when
she was a teenager. He left a couple of his certificates and a photo
with her. I'd like to get them back to him or his family. She kept
them all these years. If anyone can finish her name or give me some
info so I'll know you are the correct family I'll be happy to send these
to you if you want them. She cared enough all these many years to keep
them and I want to be sure they go to the right people. I have these
two certificates on my desk, but will have to search for the photo.

The first one is:
Reserve Officers Training Corps
City of Atlanta
To all who shall see these presents, Greeting:
Know Ye, that reposing special trust and confidence in the patriotism,
valor, fidelty and abilities of :
Cadet Private Gray, J.M.
I do appoint him : Cadet Corporal in the Technological High School unit
of the
Reserve Officers Training Corps
to rank as such from the Fifteenth day of November nineteen hundred
and Forty-Six.

The second one appoints him Cadet Sgt. in the Technological High School
Unit of the Reserve Officers Training Corps on 18 April 1947. Principal
is W.O. Cheney.

Shumate is Col.Infantry, Professor of Military Science and Tactics.
