Virginia,

You said it very well. AHGP is a FREE site that people can post their
information on. It is also made up by volunteers. We do not get paid for
the work we do maintaining the web sites. Unless you want to count the good
feeling that we get when we are able to help someone break down a brick wall
or connect with others researching the same family.

Let me say one more thing about AHGP. The material submitted remains the
property of the author. In other words the author retains the copyright to
the material. The author is the only one that can request removal of the
material. The information will never be placed in a book, CD or sold to a
third party by anyone at AHGP.

All FREE sites need the help of volunteers with gathering material. They
also need transcribers and people to do Look-ups, Cemetery Surveys, and
Special Projects. I would encourage everyone to e-mail their favorite
site's host and volunteer to help.
