Subject: [GA-OBITS] Looking for an Obit/ Obituarys HELP PLEASE!
Date: Thu, 12 Feb 2004 12:12:54 -0500

Hi,
Sorry if you get doubles, but someone once told me they could get me an
old obit if I knew the dates. I believe she worked for one of the older
newspapers? I almost hate to mention that word, OBIT, along with my
name, (LOL), but I am in need of atleast one. I am looking for the obit
of William Seaborn (W.S.) Holton. He is buried in Bethel Free Will
Baptist Church Cemetery a few miles out of Baxley, in Appling county GA.
His homemade slab is hard to read. We thought it to read 1840?1870 /
1940. I think he may have died July 7, 1940, or 1941. I would LOVE to
have a copy of his obit. And if someone is really feeling helpful, mayb
one of his wife, Magaline (Maggie) Crosby Holton. She was the daughter
of James (Jim) and Sarah Varnadore Crosby. All buried at Bethel.
Maggie has no dates what so ever on her slab. James is: James B
Crosby 8-14-1848 / 3-22-1925, Sarah is: Sarah V Crosby 9-24-1848 /
3-20-1926.
I will be glad to pay whatever cost you may incure, unless you drive out
from California to get them. LOL
Thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
Kay
