You are correct. RootsWeb does not support any user generated server side
scripting such as ASP, PHP, CGI, etc. A poorly written CGI script can
crash the entire server ;)
RootsWeb allows all SSI commands except for the #exec command.
When you upload your database to UserDB, you are given the code for a
search box you can place on your own page, so your visitors can search the
db directly from there.
