I'm guessing that people with surname Brockmeyer, but who were French, were probably from Alsace or Lorraine originally. My gggrandfather, Israel Etienne Myers (original surname was Brockmeyer) was born in Quebec Province, Canada in 1844. His father, John Myers (Brockmeyer), was also born in Quebec Province, and since I've not found info on him, I'm guessing he was born about 1820. Does anyone have information about people with this surname emigrating to Quebec, Canada, before 1820?
