Dennis, I submitted the info from the Filson Quarterly & they said thay never heard of or saw the book, which by the way is published in Kentucky Genealogies, Volumes 1-3 . They don't have the book, haven't seen it & are not interested in accepting the info. (I had sent them xeroxed pages from the book) So no need for you to send me copies. I almost offered to buy them the 3 Volumes, but I knew that would be my demise for Robert!! no one has ever gone in on hm ibefore. No doubt, his having 2 unknown wives, didn't help matters. They are accepting Robert Sr, it is Robert Jr/Esq oldest child by wife # 2 & my ancestor, that they want me to prove. Apparently, the 1790 & 1800 census weren't enough. Robert (Jr/Esq) & Elizabeth Snyder Filson didn't marry unti 1804, so he was still in Robert Srs household in the 1800 census. Also Wife # 2 was till alive then. Oh well! I will keep plodding along. I am going to Franklin County for the Kuhn Reunion Aug 5th, so I will look for newspper articles (I hope are available) & perhaps guardianship papers for the children. I think that Robert & Elizabeth married in Zion Reformed Churh but some of the papers were burned during the seize by the Cinfederates in 1864, so we shall see. I have writte Rev Diller (Pastor there) about the papers I need. Any other suggestions are welcome. JoycePS If I can get in the DAR, it will open other cousins to go in on Robert Sr. Would you know if Dr Walton (I think that is who wrote the Filson genealogy, is still alive & if so, how I can get in touch with him?? Dear Joyce,Are you refering to The Filson Club? I have the one that had the Filson genealogy in it and I think I posted it some years ago somewhere on the net. I think I still have it on computer and could find it and send it.You can contact me directly if interested at file may be on another computer but my emails reach both computers. Years ago the DAR files got so corrupted with errors that it was becoming meaningless except for those who just wanted to believe or belong. They badly needed to get a handle on the problem and apparently they are trying to now.

Does anyone have any info that the DAR would accept proving that Robert Jr (1781-1839, Franklin County, PA) is the son of Robert Sr (1755-1819)? They will not accept the American Revolution Soldiers of Franklin County, PA, because the info about Robert (Jr/Esq) being his son is not in the originalPA archives, Series 5. Vol 6, p538, 278, 125. They stated a family member must have added it. They accepted it for Conrad Schneider/Snider/Snyder & Peter Kuhn but not now. I gather that the 1790 & 1800 census is not enough proof for them. Also, since the Filson Quarterly states that they do not know where the info came from on Robert (Jr /Esq) that it is unacceptable. Is the professor still alive that wrote the section for the Quarterlies? Joyce Moodyemail;
