I would like to know more about any FENTON family from Rutland,
VT. I am reasonably certain that there is a connection between my
HALL family from Rutland, VT and the FENTONs from Chautauqua, NY.
I checked all the William FENTONs in my database and also the PARKERs
but could not see any direct FENTON-PARKER connections. However, I
do have PARKER-SHAW and PARKER-WHITTEMORE connections and both of
these families are also from Chautauqua County, NY!
My James HALL, b 1799 in Rutland, VT married a Lydia S. (last name
unknown) of CT. My FENTONs were from Willington, Tolland, CT. The
HALL-FENTON-WHITTEMORE link came in the next generation when James
HALL's daughter died and her son was adopted by the WHITTEMORE family
of Fluvanna, NY. The daughter was married to a descendent of the
FENTONs. Fluvanna is well known for the production of FENTON art
glass when the FENTON and WHITTEMORE family entered a pottery
partnership about the year 1800.
If anyone knows of any "connections" to any of these families, please
let me know.
