Thare are many of us with the last name of Feathers that were told stories of a Native Heritage that had no factual evidence. Where or why the rumors start I don't know. I, like you were told stories, and after I found the truth there are members of my family that are very upset with me for squashing the rumor.
You are correct in the fact that your Charles B. Feathers was the son of Alexander and Barbara (Eller) Feathers. Whilst I am not a member of your particular Feathers family I have done extensive researh on them and can take them back to Isaac Vetter from Germany. I will say that you and I are cousins through the BOWSER and ICKES families which marry into your direct line back to Isaac.
If you are interested, I would be willing to share info with you on your family.
