Still haven't had ANY luck tracing my mother's family. Her grandmother was Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Farmer b. abt. 1882 and married James Clanton Shewmake. 1910 census shows them living in Anniston, Calhoun, Alabma. 1920 census has them in Piedmont, Calhoun, Alabama. 1930 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Their daughter, Mary Ophelia Shewmake Ryan, is my grandmother. She is 93, slight of mind, and unable to help.
If you have even the smallest amount of information, it would be more than I have and be much appreciated.
