Subject: Help please -- moving from one version to another
Date: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 11:08:59 -0400
One of the not so pleasant aspects of getting a new PC is moving files, at least for me. Also now to make the discovery that Family Origins apparently is no longer a supported software!
My problem is I am trying to restore my database, and did in fact restore one version that was obviously done a couple of years back. I have located a newer version which includes much newer work that I really want to have but it won't let me access it.
I am running FO ver. 8.03 and when I try to restore my xxx.zip file I get the message
'This database was created by a never version of Family Origins. You need to create a GEDCOM from the newer version to import into this version.'
BUT I must have given that newer version away in a moment of grandiosity or something. Does anyone have access to a newer version that they will sell, loan or copy for me to use? Or is there any other way around this particular quagmire? I assume I had probably bought version 9 at some time though I have no clear recall of that exact version number.
Thanks for any assistance.
