Good Morning All - I am relatively new to the list, thought I would post
my ESTY family interest. My gg granfather was George Albert Est(e)y
(1849 - 1928), married Margaret Maretta Watson (1856 - 1923), married
Nov. 7, 1870 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The surname has been
seen with and without the (e). They were both from the Gagetown are of
Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada. From death certificates I have
found out that George's parents names were George and Elizabeth (?), but
I know nothing else about them. I have TONS of info to share on his
descendants; I have tracked down a descdant of almost all of his 8
children (one never married, the other seven including my gg grandmother
all had families). My theory is their ancestors came to Canada with the
pre - Loylist "planters" - there was a Richard and Zebulon Esty who were
brothers and settled just north of Queens COunty, starting a prosperous
sawmill. I have yet to connect them, or to verify my theory. Thank you
for your time and interest, enjoying all of your emails!
