Hi ,have read about spelling and so forth .
This is what happened to me
My fathers sister died (my father could not help he had died before her )my
middle name i thought was after his sister (did not have her birth
certificate at the time ) so told the details to the registrar ,saying her
first names was Eleanor
Then a while afterwards found her birth certificate which said Ellen as her
Christian name ,so back i went to put it right
And this is what i was told
Once it was in the registry it could not be changed ,but in the margin would
be wrote ,error ,wrong information given then the correct name written down

My brother even spelt our mother's name incorrectly for her death
certificate. He did notice it, but not until after the original entry
was made, and one or two companies (read: banks) refused to accept that
the person named on the cert was the person whose account it was we were
trying to close.
