I haven't posted my interests in the TURNER family for a while. Here goes:
I am especiallyinterested in TURNER family from the following villages
and towns:
Blackmore, High Ongar, Navestock, South Weald, Billericay, Shenfield,
Brentwood,
Edward TURNER was b. 1876 in Coxtie Green - which comes under South
Weald / Billericay. He was a widower when he married Alice Mary FINBOW
in 1911 in Suffolk - they probably met in London when she was in service
and he was working as a gardener in Shoreditch. I am interested to know
who his first wife was. So far I am not sure - she died young possibly
of TB. From BMD and census info I think Edward may have married Kate
Louise EMERY in 1909. If anyone knows more I would love to hear from you.
Edward was the son of James TURNER who was born in Navestock in 1851 and
was married to Elizabeth ROAST (nee HAMMOND) a widow (born in
Doddinghurst) who was the landlady of the Red Lion pub in Coxtie Green,
South Weald. James was the son of another James TURNER, born in 1801 in
the hamlet of King Street, High Ongar. He was married to Jane
DORRINGTON of Navestock and was a shopkeeper and cordwainer in
Navestock. James TURNER (senior) was the son of Thomas TURNER and
Susannah MALYON of Blackmore.
If anyone out there is linked to this TURNER family I would love to
exchange information.
Chris
