Subject: [Ess] Parish registers for Leyton
Date: Fri, 21 Jan 2011 11:34:25 +1000

Greetings Fellow Listers!

I am wondering if anyone on this list has access to the Parish Registers for
St. Mary's Church, Leyton in 1814?

I am trying to prove or disprove that my relation ELIZA BELSHAM (sometimes
spelt Belcham) born in Leytonstone
and baptised in Leyton on 15th May 1814, and another Eliza Belsham who
migrated to Australia in 1833 are one and
the same person.! Everything points to the fact that they are, except that
one of Eliza's children gave her name
as Eliza Sebran Belsham on his marriage certificate, and the Sebran part has
never cropped up anywhere else,
so it has caused some doubt in my mind. Other researchers have accepted
that she is one and the same person,
but I am not sure enough to feel happy about doing so.

Any help or suggestions would be most gratefully received as, if I can prove
that she is the same person, it opens
up a whole new interesting area of research to me which I would love to get
my teeth into!

Cheers, Diana in Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia
