Typing Saling Essex into Google demonstrates that there are three villages - Great, Little and Bardfield Saling - which no doubt explains the confusion. Given the tendency of people to conflat Great and Little villages into one entity, I'd search them in that order.

I'm having difficulty tracing this place.
Perhaps it changed its name.
?
If anyone has cencus records for this place could they please look up 1841 and subsequent
cencii to say 1891.
