Ah... just realised that Rowhedge/East Donyland was in the Lexden
registration district! My apologies...

(I know the GEOGRAHY around Colchester fairly well... but am new to to
Essex genealogy, having only recently found an ancestor that lived in
this part of the world, all my research has been in Lancashire and
Germany so far)

What information do you have and what information do you need?

Possibly teaching Granny to suck eggs, but...:

If you know her husband's name then you can find out by looking them up
in the marriage index and checking if it's the same reference.

Meanwhile, I think I've found your Emma in the 1881 census, living with
her grandmother Maria Brown:

BEWEN, Emma Grand Daughter Single F 19 1862 Dressmaker East
Donyland Essex

The address is Darkhouse Lane High Street, East Donyland

(The name "East Donyland" still exists as an electoral ward but isn't
really used as a place name... this will almost definitely be Darkhouse
Lane in Rowhedge which is the other side of Colchester)
