Subject: [Ess] Henry Herbert JOHNSTON b.1934 look up request re my baptism
Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2010 15:19:33 EDT
I wonder whether any lister who may be planning to visit the County Records
Office in Chelmsford would be willing to attempt a look up for my own
baptism. My parents- Alice Lilian (nee Fishlock) and Henry Charles Johnston
were married at Trinity Church, Southend on 25 November 1933. The
marriage was conducted by the then Rector, Revd Percy Norris. Trinity Church was
not part of the established Church of England - I think it was a part of
the Reformed Episcopal Church.
My problem is that having made enquiries of senior clerics who are within
this denomination, it is very unlikely that the parish registers have been
deposited. It is quite likely that they no longer exist. Trinity Church
was closed many years back so I understand.
However I have been given information that the Church magazines of Trinity
Church for the years 1934 and 1935 are deposited at the Records Office in
Chelmsford, and it is more than possible that my baptism will have been
recorded in the Church magazine either in the last couple of months of 1934 or
the early part of 1935.
If any lister can help I will be extremely grateful.
