Keep up the good work!

David,

Many thanks for your excellent work on your map site during the year. I am
sure that everyone on the list appreciates your wonderful work and maps.

One of the maps that I find most useful for genealogical research is the
1908 map of London. Whereas the edges of most London maps tend to finish at
the River Lea which was he old Essex/Middlesex boundary, the detailed 1908
map goes as far as the edges of Ilford. This additional map coverage
includes parts of what it now Newham/Essex which is an area that suffered
heavy bomb damage in WW2. This subsequently led to many of streets
disappearing or being renamed. This map has helped me resolve the locations
of where many ancestors lived.

I am certain on a national basis, many people who use your site would
clamour for old maps of their particular county if they exist. Certainly for
myself and I suspect most listers on this board, old detailed maps of Essex
would be greatly appreciated but I do appreciate this is somewhat of a
parochial request and is also a case of whether such maps exist.

Have a great Christmas.

Michael
