Hi Cornelia.

It would be very hard to identify the right book with the minimal info
you've given us. Can you give us a bit more, such as some of the people
shown in the portion of pedigree you have, or perhaps an observation on
when the work might have been printed, going by its typography and
general appearance?

Searching online bookstores brought up one possibility:

One Family's War : Wartime Letters from Many Fronts 1939-1945, by
Patrick Mayhew.
The seller's blurb says "In 1939, Lady Mayhew devised the 'Budget' which
encouraged her family around the world to write to her at home in
Norfolk, and she then sent copies of their letters to the other family
members."
Biblio currently list two copies for sale by the same bookseller, 1987
and 1995 editions.

Searching the British Library catalogue (http://catalogue.bl.uk/)
brought up another possible:

Author DORRINTON, J. B.
Title Mayhew family records.
Publisher London: International Research Publications,
1973.
General note Typewritten.

You could also try sites such as WorldCat, and even a Google on 'Mayhew
pedigree' might bring up a lead.

Regards,
Lawrence

would some kind soul please do me a favor and help me track this
down?

digging through my phd looking for another article, I came
across a
xerox of a portion of an early Mayhew tree-a very small portion.
unfortunately I have no provinence on it, I can only say that it came
from a tome of some sort, and it is on page 99. I need at least page
98, and if there are previous pages with earlier generations, I'd
like those as well.

This isn't for me, but for a cousin in Australia. he'soff list
and I
do most of the legwork. we descend from two different wives of our
common ancestor, Joseph Cross, the wife my cousin descends from is
Mary Mayhew.

thank you,

Cornelia
