No ! - according to my copy of "An Introduction to
The British Army: Its History, Tradition and Records"
by Iain SWINNERTON (Pub: Federation of Family
History Societies - 1998 Reprint; ISBN: 1-86006-031-5)
the "76th Foot" were renamed in 1881 as the 2nd
Battalion of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment.
