I have been a member of Genes Reunited since it started and have made
hundreds of contacts through the site. I also belong to Ancestry but find
contacts there are few and far between by comparison. Genes Reunited is
relatively cheap to join athough prices may vary for NZ. Looking up
information like census data is not free and I find it's more economical to
belong to Ancestry for information lookups. Sharing information between
members trees on Genes Reunited is free however provided another member
grants you access to their tree.
By and large, I have found members on Genes Reunited to be most helpful.
