A Thank you to Rosemary for the information she forwarded.
This family is looking very good to be the one.
1861 Census Source Citation: Class: RG9; Piece: 1123; Folio: 20; Page: 9;
GSU roll: 542758.
Reasons:
Birth dates c 1837 and c 1841 gives ages of 24 and 20 which match those
listed on the ships passenger list.
William's employment on the census is Ag labourer which matches ships
passenger list.
Son George H is listed as 1 on the census and 2 on the ships passenger list.
There is a birth registered in Saffron Walden for George Henry in
Apr-May-Jun Quarter Volume 4a Page 380 born June 1859 and a death registered
in Queensland for a George Son of William and Sarah noted that he was born
in Essex age 2 years Reg 1861/M000012. The ships passenger list notes that
George H died on the voyage.
Calculating from June 1859 to Nov 1861 when the ship departed is 17 months
and with a 3 month trip gives 20 months and from Rueben's birth date puts
the census before June 1861, would give the acceptability that the 1 and 2
year old recorded on the census and passenger list acceptable.
There is a birth Registered in Saffron Walden for Rueben in Apr-May-Jun
Quarter Volume 4a Page 383 born June 1861 and is listed as an infant on the
ships passenger list.
I have birth, marriage, death and Voter roll records for William, Sarah and
Rueben in Queensland.
This second family has been discounted for the reasons below.
1861 Census Source Citation: Class: RG9; Piece: 1122; Folio: 126; Page: 4;
GSU roll: 542758.
Reasons
They had 4 daughters and their birth dates of c1830 and c 1831 make them to
old.

Would it be possible for someone to check Marriage and Birth Register at
Saffron Walden for me please?
I thought I had this link sorted, but the other family I was looking at just
proved it could not be them.
I have checked the film for the passenger list for the ship Wansfell that
departed UK (no Port listed) on 13/11/1861 bound for Qld which arrived in
early 1862 (no date is given) and it list
William Gowlett labourer 24 Sarah Ann Gowlett 20 George (or George H)
Gowlett 2 and Reuben Gowlet inf all born in England
Checking BMD records I find
William Gowlett married (Apr-May-Jun) June 1858 Saffron Walden Essex Vol 4a
Page 505
Sarah Unwin married (Apr-May-Jun) June 1858 Saffron Walden Essex Vol 4a Page
505
George Henry Gowlett born (Apr-May-Jun) June 1859 Saffron Walden Vol 4a Page
380
Reuben Gowlett born (Apr-May-Jun) June 1861 Saffron Walden Vol 4a Page 383
Are these 4 a family?
