I'm intrigued to know whether your Holmstead line has any connection
with a family named MARSDEN.

The IGI has entries for six children of Reuben Marsden and Priscilla --
two in London and four in Colchester.

Elizabeth, born 4 Nov. 1789 bapt. 29 Nov. 1789, St Nicholas, batch K137952

Sarah, born 1 Sep. 1796 bapt. 25 sep. 1796, St Nicholas, batch K137952

William Holmsted, born 7 Oct. 1797 bapt. 12 Nov. 1797, St Nicholas,
batch J137952

Lewis Cottingham, 6 May 1799 bapt. 26 May 1799, St Nicholas, batch J137952

Obviously there are links to families named Cottingham and Holmste(a)d,
but I don't yet know what they are.
