Hi Michael,

According to Andrew Barham's book, 'Lost Parish Churches of Essex',
published in 2000,

the church was demolished in 1915. A new church of red brick was built in
1923. A barn opposite the Layer Breton Old Rectory was used for worship
until the new church was finished.
