Sorry Jim, I can't answer your question but I too have DRANE interests. My
3xgt grandmother was a Mary DRANE/DREAN! Pain in the neck aren't they??
Marriage - Source - Jack Baxter's Essex Marriage Index. and Gt Clacton
PRs-William Hazleton & Mary Drean .Both parties single of Gt Clacton.Witness
1841 census- Gt.Clacton. Essex-Mary Hazleton 50 bn Essex. HO107/338/10
1851 census- Elmwood Row.Bocking Essex.- Mary Hazleton W M 62 born Gt
Clacton.(LDS Film 207427)
Source - Burial - Gt.Clacton P/R- March 13 1859 age 72 (Stated as Mary Ann)
Year of birth ca 1787 estimated from age of 72 at death in 1859
However, couldn't find a relevant Baptism in Gt Clacton PRs
Upon a search of both Lt and Gt Clacton PRs there is only 1 DRANE entry that
I came across:
Baptsm-St.Osyth April 5 1789- Hannah Warren of Thomas & Martha DRAIN .Born
22 Dec 1788.
I intend to go back through the PRs to see if I missed more children around
If anyone can add anything to this please drop me a line.

So, is the John Drane who married Mary Check the son of Richard and Mary?
And if so why was he in Suffolk?
Can any lister help?
