That was ungrateful in the extreme and that person should be
thoroughly ashamed of him/herself. Fortunately, such people are in
the minority.

I hope that hasn't put you off helping others though.

Agreed. Familiarity with your own national records and record systems
doesn't mean that everyone else is familiar with them too!
