Hi Suzie
You shouldn't take it as being the mother's surname without actual proof.
I've got FLAVEL as a middle name but that was not the mother's maiden name,
and there are not as far as I can tell any FLAVELs in the blood line.. Plus
the fact that both father and son had it as a middle name.

You should get the birth cert of at least one of the children to be certain.
Or the marriage certificate. Are you having problems tracking information on
either of these?
