Hello Listers ~
I am trying to prove/disprove a family story that a William BULL came into the Chelmsford area of Essex from Baldock in Hertfordshire ~ after a disastrous fire destroyed the family farm at Baldock, Herts. He was eventually able to purchase land in the Stock/Ramsden Heath area cheaply "at the time of the closure of the commons".
I have searched the available Parish Records/BT's for Baldock, Herts, and although I can find numerous people named BULL, none of them connect with any William BULL who may have come into Essex. The oldest I can find in Essex is a William BULL and his wife Sarah JASPER ~ both born about 1781 according to the 1841 Census. Is there any chance that anyone of this List will recognise the family or the situation I have described?
