Hi Dick,
As to whether William George Watt was divorced or not I cannot say because I
do not have a record of actual marriage to a first wife. It is of course
possible that they were not married and that the relationship with her was
terminated before his marriage to Dorothy Kayes in 1949.

The following is his Army record but do not have Service Number:
19/5/1925 Enlisted 4/5 Bn the Seaforth Highlanders (TA).

18/1/1928 Enlisted to Royal Corps of Signals for 6 yrs.

17/4/1929 Established as despatch rider.

22/11/1932 appointed unpaid L/Cpl

2/1/1934 deprived of stripe (AWOL 6hrs 11mins) and loss of one days pay.

10/1/1934 Awarded 21 days in Aldershot detention Barracks, various other
problems.

15/6/1939 Called up for Army service.

2/9/1939 Mobilized at Aldershot.

18/9/1939 Embarked British Expeditionary Force.

4/6/1940 Evacuated from B E F (Dunkirk).

8/10/1943 Embarked UK for Egypt.

29/11/1945 Discharged to class "Z" Royal Army Reserve.

10/2/1954 Discharged completely.

All the best

Wendy
