Nearly right.
Ancestry also have the full registers up to 1983, but not indexed. So if
you find Joshua Sykes at 9a 563 but can not find Emily Meadows in the
index for the same quarter, you can look at that quarter for Meadows in
the unindexed scans and see if she is there. But she could, of course
have been mistranscribed by the GRO. It does happen.
