Stratford St. Johns parish church only came into being in 1834. I think you
might need to look at the PRs of All Saints West Ham which from what I can
make out, from the East of London FHS website, was where people in the
Stratfor-Langthorne area would have gone to worship before St. John's church
was erected.
See the information on borth churches here, using the right hand list of
place names in red to change from one place to the next. This is the West
Ham parish page. http://www.eolfhs.org.uk/parish/west_ham.htm
the LDS has the BTs for the Parish of West Ham 1803-1843 and others for the
years 1639-1640 but I can't seem to find the years between in the LDS
catalogue.
West Ham was in Essex to begin with but in the1970s it was amalgamented with
East Ham and became part of the London Borough of Newham.
