Hi Lynne,
Yes Walthamstow and East Ham are pretty close. They are both in East London.
I was born in Walthamstow and the registration district at that time (1942)
was Essex South Western. In 1934 it had been West Ham, and it has since
changed again to Waltham Forest. I would have thought, though, that on 1841,
Walthamstow and East Ham would have been separate registration districts.
