I think another angle not mentioned by other listers is that (particularly
if Elizabeth is the first child) she might have been born (and baptised) in
the parish where her mother's family lived. Have you traced the marriage of
Elizabeth's parents to see where her mother came from? (I'd hoped someone
from an earlier generation would be with the Dices in 1841, but there isn't)
The only COOK living in Burnham in 1841 is George, an Ag Lab aged 35 who is
probably single (as there is no one else of the same name) Could he be
Elizabeth's brother?

On another tack entirely . . .

I've just been trying to update my wife's family line (Jarvis from Totham,
and various surrounding parishes, going back to Witham in the mid 1700s).

I started to write up the family of the wife of George Jarvis (married at
Little Totham in 1840) and realise she was Susan Spurgeon / Spurgin baptised
at T D'A on 13 Apr. 1817. From notes I made about ten years ago it seems
there was a whole mass of people in T D'A who appear to be inter-related -
the main names are Spurgin, Towns(h)end and Brand or Rand. At that time the
registers were not deposited, and I was working from a transcript at the
ERO.

I know you have DICE interests in this parish - do you have an interest in
any of
these other families? Do you know what the position is now regarding the
registers?
