Thank goodness for Wikopedia!

He was born in 1875 in Stapleford, Notts and died in London in 1943.

When we were young we had a set of his green Children's Encyclopedia.

He lived as I said at Hextable where he wrote the King's England series.

I think that he must have moved to Kent after 1901.

After all, he was only about 26, then!

I guess he was not an established author, by then.
